Kirk Robbins
Kirk Robbins is an experienced professional development provider specializing in science education. Kirk started his career working in biotechnology as a research associate. After earning a Masters in Teaching from the University of Washington, he spent several years as an elementary teacher while also specializing in science assessment. Since leaving the classroom, Kirk has seen science education through several lenses as a regional leader, district office administrator, higher education adjunct faculty, and director. Districts and science education providers throughout the Puget Sound region of Washington state have partnered with Kirk to improve the teaching and learning of science K-16.
Kirk now focuses on supporting pre-service teachers and in-service teachers as they engage with the Next Generation Science Standards. Kirk continues to consult, write, and advocate for science literacy for all students. Services provided by Kirk are targeted to impact teacher interest and efficacy in science instruction K-8 and to provide a focus on effective instructional strategies in high school.
